CyberSync™ Overview

Simple CyberSync™ Triggering System:

If your objective is simply to fire all your lights wirelessly, you need only one CST transmitter for your camera and either a CSR (AC) or CSRB (Battery) receiver for each light. Each transmitter and receiver has sixteen frequencies within the global 2.4GHz band. If another photographer is using CyberSync™ you can each use a different frequency to avoid interaction. There is no channel selection on these components, so all lights set to the transmitter frequency will fire together and no grouping or other advanced features are available.
The battery operated CSRB is recommended because it may conveniently be used to trigger most studio flash units and speedlights without requiring AC power, and can remotely fire most popular cameras with suitable optional cables.

Advanced CyberSync™ Transceivers:

In order to take advantage of the advanced features of Cyber Commander™ you will need either a CSR+, CSRB+, or CSXCV transceiver for each light. Advanced Transceivers have 16 frequencies within the global 2.4GHz band and also are selectable to one of sixteen channels so each light in your system has a unique address to allow selective firing, metering, grouping and parameter control.
• For all flash units, including speedlights and flash units from most manufacturers as well as Paul C. Buff, Inc. classic products, you will need the CSR+ or CSRB+. The CSRB+ is recommended for use with speedlights because it is battery powered.
• For AlienBees Max™ and future Paul C. Buff, Inc. units with digital interface you will need the CSXCV Plug-in Transceiver.

Cyber Commander™

Advanced Remote Controller: fits on your camera hotshoe and swivels from horizontal to vertical position.
When used with virtually any Paul C. Buff, Inc. lights made since 1987, you will be able to control all parameters of sixteen different light channels, store and retrieve any number of setups, meter, display and bracket camera f-stop by channel, group or all, and display all power levels of all lights on a common bar graph.
Also displays flash durations, color temperatures, and detailed parameters of each light channel.
Mixing Buff lights and non-Buff lights** is practical, as are combinations of classic White Lightning™, AlienBees™ and Zeus™ with next generation AlienBees Max™ and future lights.
Since Cyber Commander™ contains a built in incident dome flash meter, many users prefer to hand-carry Cyber Commander™ to take meter readings and to setup the various parameters of the lighting system. In this usage, a CST transmitter is normally used on the camera hotshoe to take pictures. while the Cyber Commander™ determines all parameters, grouping, bracketing, etc.

** While non-Buff lights can be individually metered and grouped by Cyber Commander™, their power and other parameters cannot be remotely controlled or displayed.

With our line of remote controls, most of your light's operating functions can be controlled right from your camera. We offer both wireless and wired remote control systems, depending on your needs. The LG4X is our wired remote, controlling the flashpower and modeling of up to four flash units. Please click on any product to learn more.
